Photo of Jaime Bona Spain

JAIME BONA (jazxart)

He is a Spanish artist (Madrid, 1984). He began professionally working in several design and architecture studios in the Spanish capital, mostly at Jesús Manzanares Arquitects, collaborating on projects with architects such as Rafael Moneo, Álvaro Siza, Zaha Hadid.

After several years he moved to Amsterdam, where he will begin to develop professionally working as a painter. Little by little, Jaime would move away from the underground scene of Madrid, Berlin and Amsterdam, city where he start making several exhibitions and opened experimentally, in an old printing house in the Red Light District Gallery 33 1/3 (for 3 years),together with four others artists recognized in the dutch art scene. They gave him the opportunity to be one more being just a young artist who began to create his own style. Thanks to them, Jaime would learn the importance of being constant both creatively and productively.

Jaime Bona has had exhibitions in Amsterdam, London, Paris and Madrid.

He makes an intuitive, spontaneous painting, where the color becomes very important as well as the message and symbolism. that become clear  after reading the title, or when the artist explains what he capture. The game of chromatically complex, analytical, variable zones, with planes, voids, lines and paths, seeks the viewer's eye to vibrate, flow through the artwork without perceiving it and every time you see the artwork will be different.

"Art is everything that without realizing it attracts you, slows you down, makes you reflect without knowing why. You don't understand it quickly according to what you see or hear. Without the need for knowledge, it made you think and feel something that you only know varies, that makes you reflect not with the mind, but in the depths of our being. Not knowing why it will expand your subconscious and make you grow."

Jaime Bona´s art has a strong influence of Expressionism, Dadaism, Surrealism, the Cobra movement, Comic, Grafitti, Street Art, and Neo-expressionism. But always trying to create a unique and personal style. when you see his artwork you know it is him.

"I have always believed that the painter has to work most of the hours, without the paint or the pencil on his/her hands.

After several years away from Galleries and Art Fairs. Maturing, analyzing and strengthening my style. I decided to go one step further, and create more interesting proposals for gallery owners, collectors, and the general public. After a hard period of my life, my happy color did not change, my palette was still without gray, I returned to be an artist without paint or brush, I matured, and my style is mine, like it or not, but people knows it is me. But now I want the collector, the viewer to participate in my artworks and have something exclusive make for them where I and them will participate in our artwork. And as it came it left, or change, but something always endured.

I hope that from 2020 people can start seeing several of my proposals . Being young I used more than twelve signatures and names, jazxart the name I started with, my signature will not change (jazx) but Jaime Bona is my name, my artist name Jaime Bona will be"
